011. You Ran Restaurant (also means leisurely home)

Fortunately they did not come across any traffic jams on the way to the restaurant. By the time they arrived at ‘You Ran Restaurant’ it was 6:10.

Su Yi Cheng parks his car at the side. In the passenger seat beside him, An Ran has already unbuckled her seatbelt immediately upon parking. She opens the door in one smooth movement.

Su Yi Cheng is surprised to see her looking cautious, standing beside the door of the car, her eyes wandering around everywhere. He can’t help but shake his head and laugh. He knows that she is still shy over that kiss, her face was still bright red during the entirety of their journey.

An Ran really was frightened by the kiss. The intimate closeness when he had helped her buckle her seatbelt was enough to shock her due to the unexpected action, and it was enough to make her feel uneasy. She totally did not expect him to kiss her; that kind of kissing is reserved for lovers. She was immediately stunned. When she finally gathered herself to react to it, they were already on the road. She angrily turned her head to him and asked him why he had kissed her like that, and he innocently turned to look in her eyes, arguing, “A husband kissing a wife, isn’t it a matter of course?”

His response had rendered her speechless. Yes, they are husband and wife, if they want to be intimate, that’s normal!


Su Yi Cheng alights the car, and the couple enters ‘You Ran Restaurant’. An Ran looks left and right, and avoids looking at Yi Cheng. Su Yi Cheng smiles silently, he is in a rather delighted mood.

An Ran’s reserved table is in the chamber on the second floor. She had gone to check it out beforehand, the layout of the private room was really nice. There is a windowsill, and out of the windowsill lies the restaurant’s mini-garden. With the view from their table, they can have a panoramic view of the entire garden below. If they open the window, they can even have a sniff of the garden flowers’ fragrance.

An Ran and Su Yi Cheng were led to the second level by the restaurant’s attendant. They turn a corner to go upstairs, but still haven't reached the private room. They only saw that there were a few people surrounding the doorway, appearing to say something.

“This room is fine, even though it’s a bit small, but the ambience isn’t too bad… Let’s take it. I don’t want the other room anymore, let’s change it.” An Ran only heard these words at the doorway,

An Ran still hasn’t even entered yet, as another flattering voice went ahead to agree, “If Tong Ju likes this room I will immediately change it for you* (T/N: formal/ respectful). You* guys go notify the kitchen, the dishes for chief Tong Ju will be sent to this room instead.” *informal

“Yes, manager.” The waiters in the room respond, accepting the order.

An Ran frowns, as she enters she sees a waitress come out. “Wait,” she calls out, keeping her from leaving. She turns and enters the private room and sees the back of a 60 year-old man, standing by the windowsill. You Ran Restaurant’s manager stands at the side and smiles apologetically.


In the room there was also a gentle-looking couple. A stoutly-looking married woman sits separately in the host’s seat. Everyone sees An Ran entering and looks at her with surprise, not comprehending what she is doing here.

An Ran looks at everyone, then turns to Manager Zhang who stood at the side, and says, “Manager, I have already booked this private room days in advance.”

Manager Zhang looks at An Ran in shock, and turns to look at the waiter standing behind An Ran, his expression inquisitive, verifying whether or not An Ran was telling the truth.

The waiter hesitantly nods his head, answering, “Yes, that’s right. Ms. Gu has already scheduled for this room a week in advance, for 6:30.”

Manager Zhang nods his head in understanding, turns to smile at An Ran and says, “I’m really sorry, Ms. Gu, this is a result of our restaurant’s negligence. I had thought that this room was available, so I already agreed for chief Tong Ju. Would this be alright instead, I will immediately arrange another room for Ms. Gu, and the dishes for tonight will all be discounted.”

An Ran shakes her head and says, “It’s my mother’s birthday today. She really likes flowers, so I booked this room in advance because of the garden view from the windowsill. So I’m not thinking of changing it.”

“This….” Manager Zhang is in a bind. It is reasonable to say that this Ms. Gu has grounds not to change the room, after all, they had already reserved it a week in advance, but this chief Tong Ju is the city’s Construction Chief of Bureau, his everyday relations with this business proprietor is not bad, he also cannot afford to offend them! 

“…How about this. We also do not wish to trouble Manager Zhang. We will cover all of your dining expenses this evening. Would you be able to give us this room?” asks the man who had been standing at the side.

An Ran turns to look at the man, and says, “Apologies, this is not a matter of money. On a normal day I would give in to you guys, no problem. But today is my mother’s birthday, as a daughter, I haven’t been able to give her many things. So to me, for this special day, I wish for her to be in a cozy environment, happily eating her meal. So I cannot give up this room.”

“Why is this woman so difficult, today’s meal is to give my elder sister a welcome home meal. She likes flowers, my mother also likes flowers, what’s the big deal if you just give it up. We already said that we will cover all of your meal expenses, what else do you want?” Another woman from the side says in disdain. Not waiting for An Ran to open her mouth, she rushes to stand in front of manager Zhang and says, “Manager Zhang, we want this room. As for whatever she wants, you can do whatever you see fits. Also, the dishes that I just ordered, it’s already been about 10 minutes.”

“You… How can a person be so rude and unreasonable?” An Ran is unbearably angry. This is clearly using one’s powers to bully others.

The woman looks at An Ran, stating meaninglessly, “I’m just like this, think whatever you want to think.”

“You…” An Ran was pissed, she takes a step, intending to step forward to reason with her, when her hand was suddenly grabbed by Su Yi Cheng from behind. She turns to look at him, puzzled. He just wears a smile, shakes his head to her, and whispers, “Let me.”

“Xiao Min.” The man standing by the windowsill turns his head, calling his daughter with a strict tone.

“Dad…” The woman called Xiao Min whines like a spoiled child. She pulls on his hand and speaks in a tender voice, “Dad, I won’t want to change. This room’s air is so fragrant, I like this.”

“You!” That chief Tong Ju begrudgingly pats her hand, and was about to face An Ran to say something, but catches a glimpse of Su Yi Cheng who stood beside her. He was caught off guard, and turned speechless.

Dayummm, go An Ran haha. Should have let her go at it, Yi Cheng, tsk tsk. Sorry for the late update guys, haven't been in the mood/ have the patience for translating haha. And yes, I'm still playing around with the formatting... Don't kill me!

Also, I will release the translation for chapter 12 and 13 next week, as the two are technically a continuation of each other. (based on the title anyways)
